Movie Review:

Obsessed with the mystery, Justin Duerr has made impressive strides in uncovering clues to the potential truth behind the mystery of Toynbee Idea tiles, which first began appearing in Philadelphia in the 1980s. Since then many tiles have been discovered across America, including in the cities of Boston, Washington DC, Cleveland, Roswell, and San Francisco.

Tiles far outside the Philadelphia area are likely the work of copycats but the original tiles remain a mystery. This documentary does a great job connecting the dots to find a possible answer to the mystery of who placed them, and the story behind the strange messages contained on the tiles themselves.

The message varies in form but the content is generally the same: Toynbee Idea - In Movie 2001 - Resurrect Deat - On Planet Jupiter. Sometimes other cryptic messages are included with the main idea, but all authentic Toynbee Idea tiles contain this message, and the execution of the design and method of placement of the tiles are consistent with a single perpetrator or artist. Other tiles that have different messages and artistic stylings are likely the work of copycat tile makers, but are nonetheless intriguing.

Resurrect Dead: The Mystery of the Toynbee Tiles is a well made film with high quality production and camera work. The people interviewed and involved with the mystery quest are interesting and entertaining. Through painstaking research and investigation, Justin and his friends present a convincing possibility in this documentary. Highly recommended if you enjoy true unexplained mysteries.
