Post Your Own Review of Intensity.
Originally published in 1995, Dean Koontz's Intensity had me hooked, with an incredibly intriguing twist, right from the beginning. It's like I was sitting there just minding my own business and then BANG we're off like a shot, racing at breathless speeds, panicked, in fear, in terror right along side the lead character.
The aptly named Intensity is perhaps one of the best thrillers written by Dean Koontz, a master in his craft. It is incredibly fast paced, packed with action, thrills, and suspense. Typical of his style, Koontz expertly illustrates the scenes and landscapes, bringing the reader right into the story, assisting our minds in creating fitting visuals for the adventure.
Koontz tells the story of a girl who is thrown into a nightmare within the first few pages of the book. We follow her through the tale, begging for her escape to safety, as she fights and hides from a cunning and sadistic assailant. You won't believe the clever twists and turns Koontz has created in this masterpiece.
This is not a new release, but if you are a Dean Koontz fan and have not read Intensity you are missing perhaps one of the best novels he has ever written. Intensity is a rocket, and doesn't hold back. It is one of his most compelling tales. If you like action, and nonstop, edge-of-your-seat suspense and excitement, this is the story. Make no mistake, Dean Koontz went over the top with this one.
In 1997 FOX released a TV miniseries of the same title, based on Intensity. I have not seen this production, so I can't comment on it's accuracy or quality, but if it was done well it should prove to be entertaining to say the least. Maybe it's available on DVD somewhere. I'll have to look around.
