Will Ferrell did a great job in this outstanding story of a story in progress, wherein the main character realizes he is the main character, and with the help of Dustin Hoffman attempts to find out who the author is.

Stranger than Fiction was very memorable, and very entertaining. Ferrell plays Harold Crick, an IRS auditor going through his calculated motions, day in and day out, until one day while brushing his teeth he notices, and directly addresses, the voice that has been narrating his life. A voice only he can hear, which of course leads to several comical situations.

Ferrell's character is endearing once we find out what he's really like. Still, his character remains a bit shallow for the most part, but the movie does work. After ogling a girl he has been assigned to audit, Crick realizes he has feelings for her and we watch this develop as Crick also tries to find out who is writing his life, the tragedy, and whether he will survive the story.

Stranger Than Fiction lived up to it's name and I found it incredibly entertaining, comical, romantic and really quite well done. It's tough to pull of the story of a story in a story, but this is exactly what Marc Forster and the actors did, with great success. Highly recommended!
